Whether you term it “Summer Slide” or something entirely different, research has shown us that most students will experience some form of learning loss throughout the summer months.

I think we all look forward to summer vacation, it means a break from school for many students, for parents it’s a break from packing school lunches, deadlines, projects and book reports….but it shouldn’t mean a break from learning.

There are several things we can do in order to avoid this summer slide. Reading is key…organize a summer reading Olympics; who can read the most books gets a prize or start a family book club.

Participating in quality enrichment programs during the summer holidays is another great option, the benefits go well beyond academic, there are the personal gains; confidence, self-esteem and self-worth.

In general, enrichment programs are a great way to extend learning opportunities beyond the school year.

Here at Team Zero HQ we’re pleased to announce the launch of a new literacy and arts based program fittingly named ‘Creative Storytelling’, all programming was developed by a team of dedicated educators, together with over 30 years experience in the field.

We also understand that life can get busy so we’ve given you options, there is the flexibility to participate in either traditional in-class sessions or a live online class.
